Today we started our adventure into the world of Anglo-Saxon literature and the opening lines of Beowulf! As mentioned in class, we are going to read an analyze selected parts of the epic poem in class. When you are working remotely, you are able to follow along. However if you feel confident enough with the day’s readings, you can check in with me at the start of class then work asynchronously at home.

Don’t forget to work with the study guide as we proceed in our readings. It will be collected at the following intervals (1) After battle with Grendel (2) After Battle with Grendel’s mother (3) at conclusion of poem. I will give you a more specific line number/time as we approach each of those points.
