Gullivers travels 152-160
The majority of this section is describing the structure of the floating island. Gulliver goes over the ways that the king squashes (sometimes literally) rebellion, as well as the way one of the cities of the land combatted this using large magnets. He talks about a relative of the king who is seen as stupid among the residents of te island because he can’t play instruments or understand astronomy, yet while talking to Gulliver he wants to know all sorts of things about England and Europe. The section ended with Gulliver leaving the island with a letter of recommendation from the king to Balnibarbi to let Gulliver stay with them.
I thought the treatment of the kings relative was really important to note upon because while he was really intelligent in a lot of areas he wasn’t gifted in what was considered essential and was therefore regarded as an idiot by his peers.
