Raymond, Marie, Thomas Perez, Masson, Salamano, celeste, and the director as well as the caretaker of the nursing home, were all witnesses in the trial, they all were questioned and all tried to defend Meursault but the prosecutor always found a way to turn their statements around against Meursault. The section ends with Meursault riding in a car through the town back to the prison and remembering before he was put in prison when he could enjoy life and be free.
Significant event- The prosecutor would turn all the statements around to make Meursault look bad and it seemed as if Meursault was loosing the case.
The Divine Comedy
170-181
The main points in this is Dante visits different planets starting on Mars, Mercury, and then Venus. We get to know a lot more about Heaven we get to hear about Adam and Eve and how God had to come down and wash us away from all of our sins. We also learn about the corruption from the most religious people such as popes and how Dante should stop it and call them out.
It was very cool to bring up the story of Adam and Eve and letting Dante answer the questions of why God had to come down and help his people because they were losing their way. I found it very interesting hearing about God dying for our sins because I think humans are evil and are more for self interest then the good of the people.
Dracula Pages 270 – 300
This part shows the men on their way to the carfax only to find many boxes missing and that rats were filling the chapel. It then goes to Mina who wakes up from a bad dream to only see the mist coming towards the asylum where she resides. And right after that, she sees a white pillar cloud in the room which could be Dracula
An important event in this part is the count coming into the asylum and creating suspense as to what the fate of mina will be
Title: Jane Eyre
Pages: 335- 404
Summary: Jane and Rochester go to get married. There is nobody there besides 2 men, Mr. Briggs and Mason. They object the wedding and says Rochester is already married. He then explains to Jane is he married to Mason’s crazy sister. She lives on the 3rd floor of Thornfield and is is Grace Poole’s care. The reason Grace was such a questionable character was because she was keeping the secret of Rochester’s. He says he was tricked into it and explains his past to Jane. Jane decides it is not worth it and leaves. She does not have a lot of money and wanders off into the woods. She sleeps there for a few days while looking for a job and shelter. After no hope, she goes to a house. She asks the servant to stay, but she says no. John Rivers however sees this and lets her in. She lies about her name and tells them the most about her past she can without stating she came from Thornfield. I think it is significant that Jane is going through another crisis. When this first happened in her life, she behaved in a way that was angry and harsh. Now after thinking she is going to marry a man and doesn’t, she looks to God and tries seeking help on her own.
1984
