A Doll’s House pages 12-18
On these pages, we start to see how Mrs.Linde reacts to Nora’s secret. Mrs.Linde was rather shocked and advised Nora to tell Helmer at some point, which Nora said she would. She tells Mrs.Linde that she buys cheaper items and uses the rest of the money Helmer gives her to pay off her loan, also how she would work during the night to also make money. Krogstad arrives at the residence to see Helmer and both women tense. The word choice Nora uses seems to be foreshadowing that Krogstad knows something we have not found out yet. He goes up to Helmer’s office to talk about the bank as Mr.Rank comes down. The two women chat with Mr.Rank until Helmer comes down with his coat and hat. Krogstad had already left as his talk with Helmer ended. Mrs.LInde, Dr.Rank, and Helmer all walk out together and go their separate ways as the kids come inside. Nora plays with them for awhile as Krogstad shows up at the door waiting for Nora to notice him. So far, I see that Nora spends very little time with her children but still seems like a happy person.
