Here is a quick review of our discussion of Tuft of Flowers by Robert Frost. As we discussed our speaker has a somewhat catharsis as he goes from a feeling of isolation to a “kindred spirit” with “mankind.” The butterfly returning to help our speaker is important. In literature the butterfly has a meaning of resurrection or rebirth. It is the butterfly that helps our reader realize he is one with “man” and despite “working alone,” he is still connected to the world around him, nature, mankind, higher being.
